The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (...) And to the scholar (...) Our Master Suleiman (...) I praise God and in Him I seek help (...) And then he says (...) Suleiman bin Muhammad bin Abdullah (...) I have seen some of the humps of ranks being high and bearing the mark of seeking, but he has neither knowledge nor breadth in narration or hearing.
The end of the manuscript: And if you do not see the crescent, then give it to people who have seen it with sight, and whoever is ignorant of something will criticize it. The eye may deny the light of the sun due to ophthalmia, and the mouth may deny the taste of water due to illness. I ask God for success in what pleases Him and thanksgiving. He deserves more and fulfills it. May God’s prayers and peace be upon him, our master Muhammad, his family, and his companions. I finish.
