The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and may God’s blessings be upon our master. The grammatical jurist and linguist said (...) Praise be to God who bequeathed to us his book and his knowledge and taught us a praise that will last forever and then his blessings upon Muhammad. The most generous of those who were sent to sleep, and the best of those who took up the position.
The end of the manuscript: The completion of the transcription of all of the two systems of Al-Kharaz and the systems of Ibn Bari on the twenty-fourth of Rabi’ Al-Thani in the year three hundred and twenty-nine and a thousand like this 1329, in the handwriting of the distinguished jurist, Galilee, Sidi Muhammad bin Abdul Qadir Al-Subaihi. May God be with him, his parents, all Muslims, and the writer of these letters, the poor servant Al-Tayeb bin Abdullah bin Khadra, Amen.
