Notes: 1-The document does not contain printing data. 2- This letter is an abbreviation of a book entitled “Famous Houses of Fez in the Old,” which was famously titled “The Great Houses of Fez,” by one of the students of Imam Muhammad bin Qasim al-Quri, who died in the year 1467 AD. It was abbreviated by Abu Zaid Abd al-Rahman bin Abd al-Qadir al-Fassi. When this abbreviation was printed in the lithograph press in Fez, it was incorrectly attributed to Muhammad Fatha bin Abd al-Qadir al-Fassi, who died in the year 1704 AD (he is a brother of Abu Zaid Abd al-Rahman, the real author). This error was alerted to by: Abd al-Salam bin Sawda in the Guide to the Historian of Morocco al-Aqsa, p. 37; Ibn al-Mahi al-Idrisi in the Dictionary of Moroccan Publications, p. 263; And Muhammad Al-Manouni in the Arab sources for the history of Morocco, c. 1, p. 179. |
