The beginning of the manuscript: Sheikh Al-Arif Al-Kamil, the investigator Al-Wasil Abu Al-Abbas Sidi Ahmed Zarrouk, was asked about the origin of his method, and he, may God be pleased with him, said the following: Praise be to God. The origins of our method are five things: fearing God in secret and public, and following the Sunnah in words and deeds.
The end of the manuscript: The etiquette of the disciple with the sheikh and the brothers is five: following the order, even if it appears contrary to it (...) and he seeks help for that with fairness and advice, which is treating the brothers if he is not a sheikh and a guide, and if he is found lacking in the five conditions, he relies on them, he completes it, and he is treated with the brothers in the rest and peace. It ended with the last of it by the Sheikh, may God be pleased with him, and you, the student, should read it every day (...) and he is sufficient for us and the best disposer of affairs.
