Praise be to God alone. May God’s blessings and peace be upon our Master and Master Muhammad and his family. God Almighty supported our Master, the Grand Vizier, the Jurist, the Scholar, the Honorable Sadr, the Most Honorable, the Most High, my Master Ahmed, may God protect you, and peace be upon your sovereignty and God’s mercy on behalf of the best of our Master, may God grant him victory. After the letter of our Master, the supporter of God, has come to us, assigning me to buy hay for his high honor in God, and he has appointed five thousand riyals from the Happy Bow to buy it, and the Mighty God has ordered those in charge of him to pay it. To the trustees of Dar Adeel, they put it on my hand and they put it on the dome of Al-Saeer Al-Saeed, and we spend it batch after batch until it is all exhausted in the hay market. He ordered his two servants, Sayyid Abd al-Karim and Hajj Saeed, to designate for me specific places in New Fez in which we can store it. And the place that is being built, we block it with my key and build on it so that nothing comes out of it except with the express permission of his honorable servants, and that we make a barn in which we show what we have bought every day of the hangings and other things, a list of their markets, along with a statement of what is in each storehouse. The places that are inhabited, and when we complete the work of purchasing it, we direct the scraps to His Honorable presence, so we complied with him and our lover in the matter of purchasing in the manner that our master, may God grant him victory, after I took possession of the aforementioned places that he designated for me to store, which are Hari Bani Amer and two caves in Al-Qishla Al-Saeeda, adjacent to Kasbah Al-Sharda. These places were extremely lacking in repair and sweeping them of the dung and dirt that had accumulated in them, so we swept and built a wall covering one of the two caves mentioned. To maintain it, the storage can be brought into it, and we made a door for it to lock. We repaired what had been damaged in the walls of others and what had vanished from its doors. And when it was filled with straw, we blocked it all with its keys tightly and built on it. And here is the bucket that I made to do that, arriving with it. We showed in it what I had bought of the baskets, shovels, and loads, and what was in every store of that, and its markets, of which there were fifty-five thousand mithqals, two hundred mithqals, and fifty-two mithqals. And two uqiyas, and the fee for carrying the ropes to the storage places gathered, of which eleven thousand mithqals, nine hundred mithqals, and fifty-six mithqals, and the service fee for bringing in the hay and storing it gathered, of which is one thousand mithqals, eight hundred mithqals, and fourteen uqiyas, and what happened to repair the aforementioned places, which was gathered, of which two thousand mithqals, three hundred mithqals, ninety mithqals, and six uqiyahs, and what was combined from all of that amounted to five thousand riyals, one hundred riyals, one and a half riyals, and twelve riyals. A scarf deducted from him, so he remained aware of one hundred riyals, half a riyal, and twelve uqiyas, asking Your Excellency, may God bless you and keep you for the sake of our Lord the Imam, may God support him, and requesting from Sharif Janabaah to implement the aforementioned pledge, may God bless him and exalt him and grant him peace and service on the Fatih of Safar Al-Khair in the year 1317, the favorite servant bin Idris Al-Sarraj, may God be gracious to him.
