Notes
Praise be to God alone, our lover, the earthly jurist, Mr. Idris Al-Sarraj, may God’s peace and mercy be upon you, for the goodness of our Lord, his victory. And then, the dhimmi Ibn Ammur whom you have accompanied and responded to us asking for the establishment of a stop for the place where the looting occurred and the control of what was looted for him. We would love for you to enable him to do so and to stand by him in seizing what was looted for him from the people of that land. And with love and peace on the 9th of Rajab in the year 1286. May God grant you high status. My hope is, praise be to God and to our earthly lover, the most pure peace and God’s mercy be upon the best of our Lord, may God grant him victory. Then may the reins of his Jewish shackles reach you with a mention, with the restriction of his supplication and the response of the Zarhanes to him, and that he did not plunder in their country, because those who are not responsible enough to plunder for him plotted it, but the debt is on all of these stragglers and on love and peace.
