Praise be to God alone And may God’s blessings and peace be upon our Master Muhammad and his family, our dearest earthly lover and the servant of our Lord Al-Amjad Al-Ahda, the leader, Mr. Idris Al-Sarraj. May God protect you, and may God’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you, for the goodness of God’s support and victory. After we received your letter informing you that the book broker told you that the sheet amounted to forty mithqals, or the authentic copy amounted to sixteen mithqals, and what the decrees of my master, Moulay Al-Rashidi, may God protect him. You receive a book from them. As for the booklet, you have been informed of what it has reached. He said, “Sell it, and the copy of the authentic one, so return it so that we may pay it to him.” He retracted from it. As for the book inside which is a record of the decrees, I asked the secretary of the dancer about it when you told me that why did you not receive mention that he gave it to a black man named Hajj Abdullah who serves a dancer there with you. We would like your Excellency to ask the secretary of the dancer there to look in the book and bring you herewith this record of the courtiers that we wrote to you about, my lord, Moulay Al-Rashid. May God protect him, so we love you. May God’s blessings be upon you. You confirm to him their matter, for he indicated this to me and to your love and affection. Peace be upon him on the 14th of the Hajj al-Haram in the year 1279. Abdul Salam al-Susi, may God be kind to him.
