Al-Mahdi Al-Wazzani wrote this restriction to respond to the fatwa of Sheikh Muhammad Abduh prohibiting the supplication of prophets, saints, and knowers. This fatwa was a confirmatory response to what was stated by an Egyptian “jurist” called Muhammad Musa from the locality of Farnawi in Al-Buhaira.
