The beginning of the manuscript: Sheikh (...) Abu Al-Abbas Sidi Ahmad bin Abdul Aziz Al-Samlili said: Praise be to the one who wakes up after weakness *** by his grace the body and his good work and distributes thanks for his blessings *** who requires more of his mercy and completes contentment with what he has decreed *** with the trust that pleases him (...) This is advice for myself and for those who *** are as negligent as I am among the sons of time.
The end of the manuscript: He asks for kindness in all circumstances *** and to seal with goodness or departure. The Most Merciful, the Most Majestic *** wishes to pardon him, Ahmed Al-Samlali. He seeks the intercession of the exalted Chosen One *** of the lofty position. May God’s prayers and peace be upon him for all eternity *** the most pure Muslim, peace be upon him, eternal peace, and his family and righteous companions *** and the followers, the free servant.
