Notes Praise be to God alone, after peace and God’s mercy be upon the student, Mr. Muhammad ibn Talib, on the authority of the best of our Lord, may God support him. You will receive a mail letter from Al-Habashi with the reins of Joseph’s children heading to the East, and he told him that they paid him 500 riyals and francs. Our master, may God grant him victory, commands you to pay it to them from the trustees of Medina, an exact riyal as they paid it, and he will testify against them in their enemy’s receipt of the aforementioned equipment, and the testimony will be on the one who is in charge of all of them, because the Al-Habashi referred to them all, and he did not assign some of them to the exclusion of others from the aforementioned payment. And here is the store that arrives to you, and its name is Al-Mukhtar. You will know them all, and bring them to you, and you must introduce them in witnessing them in addition to knowing the store and describing them. Also pay to another man from Tafilalt, whose name is Ibn Abdullah bin Al-Wahid Al-Ashsali, a hundred and one riyals, because he paid it to the Abyssinian. There also he will receive a similar amount here, and that for the honorable matter as well, and I bear witness to its receipt, as well as the sons of Al-Mukhtar, mentioned above, and he will bring it to you. After paying them, he directed us the attestation fee, and a letter was returned to us. Al-Habashi and his reins, and peace be upon him on the 5th of Sha’ban in the year 1274, Muhammad Al-Saffar, may God grant him success
