Notes	Praise be to God alone and may God’s blessings be upon Muhammad and his family, our greatest lover and the servant of our Master Mortada, the eminent jurist, our Master Idris. May God bless you and may your glory perpetuate among the people, and we inform you. Peace be upon you and mercy for the goodness of our Master, may God grant him victory. Then what is required of you, by your grace and generosity, is to release the prisoner whom we asked you to help with. Many honorable people have suffered from him and committed adultery without paying us anything of what was captured from him. With your love and peace, in the middle of Rabi’ al-Thani in the year 1290, the servant of the high station in God, Abdul Rahman, may God protect him.
