Notes Praise be to God, our earthly love, the friendliest guide to my relief. May God’s peace and mercy be upon you, for the goodness of our Master, may God support him. After the maktari is for the son of the jurist, the scholar Sidi al-Hasan Kanbour, we have directed him to remove him from it in accordance with what you have written to us. So we will appear by drawing a knot from the jurist’s representative and his son. Half of the period has passed and half remains for him, and here we are directing it to you so that you may look at it. If the jurist’s order is that the hand of the son of Mekki should roam and nothing else, then appoint a representative for us to meet him with the maktari and he will pay him. The rent is not for anyone else, and if it costs him what he wants to increase, then we will bring the masters of sight and what they have increased so that it remains empty without residents, so we will please this man’s soul until he tears the knot, because we found him in it with a permissible face, the representative of the jurist, Sidi Al-Hassan, who is the father of Muhammad Al-Sanhaji, he is the contracting officer for him with the son of the jurist, and say to him, “We have informed you of the reality and work on what you will answer us with, and on love and peace.” Jumada 28, 1 year 1279. Idris Al-Sarraj, may God grant him peace. Praise be to God. Our beloved and dearest earthly jurist, Mr. Idris al-Sarraj, may God bless him with peace upon the best of our Lord, may God grant him victory. After that, the man who bought the house of the aforementioned jurist around him. We have seen the drawing of the knot that he has in his hand for the aforementioned house and we have understood its meaning. Let him sit in his house until the duration of the knot is completed. May God bless you for us and we have reached the drawing of greetings and peace and love. 28 Jumada 1, 1279. May God grant you high status.
