The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (...) Praise be to God, O God, praise be to Him (...) And then he says (...) Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Azhari, may God have mercy on him. This is a nice explanation of the rules of parsing, which is useful, God willing. Some of my friends asked me about it (...) I called it the students’ guide to the rules of parsing.
The end of the manuscript: The author of this commentary, Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Azhari, said: I finished blackening these papers on three Shawwals in the year three hundred and ninety-eight (??) (...) It ended with the praise of God (...) and it was saluted, and it was completed on Tuesday in the month of God, Jumada al-Awwal, in the year 1274, at the hands of (...) Abdullah bin Al-Hassan Al-Shairi.
