Notes Praise be to God alone                And may God’s blessings be upon our master Muhammad, his family, and his companions, our most beloved Basha, the most honorable president, the jurist, my master Idris al-Sarraj, may God protect you and protect you, and may God’s peace and mercy be upon you, for the best of our master, may God grant him victory. And after my master, we died, your dearest letter, and with it what we asked of you to stay. May God prolong your presence for us and command us to show you what you are doing and what remains of what we are obligated to do. Know, sir, that we have installed a roof and a clock. (Amr) And we are our servants in installing the roof, determined to enter the Holy Mosque. May God benefit us and you with His blessing. And the roof next to it you see in the hands of the gardeners and the stalls. If it were in the hands of the carpenters when they finish the service, we will advance, by God’s will. And the tiles you see are the most complete, long and thick, with nothing left but the cheeks and the single storey. And your saying, “Master of the brick, why did we build on a brick, nor do they have a purpose for it?” And that is the statement of the presenter and my master Ibrahim, “We are obligatory to them.” He has permission for that and we love you, Sir (Peter) and his Messenger made clear to us what we should do in the matter of the house, if you would come forward to serve him and not be late for it, and what we should do with the old wood that was preferred for us and for the service and peace on Saturday, the birthplace of Rajab in the year 1280           Abdul Rahman Lahlou, may God grant him success through him.
