Notes
Praise be to God alone And may God’s blessings be upon our master Muhammad, his family, and his companions, our master, the eminent jurist, the honorable Pasha, my master Idris Al-Sarraj, may God grant you success, and may God’s peace and mercy be upon you, for the goodness of our master, may God support him and may God bless him. After I wrote, I ordered the arrest of the mentioned person immediately, and he was arrested. Then we wrote to you that he is a resident of Al-Zawiya, with the testimony of some of its residents, and that they have known him for about thirty-odd years, and he was the resident’s lieutenant. And he plows its farms up to now, as I have seen the drawing of this certificate, and he was blessed with ten riyals by your side. Then you answered us that you wrote to the Honorable Mawlawiyya about his matter and informed His Eminence, our happy Mawlana, of the matter and mentioned that it would not be in his last matter. Then until now no news has appeared from your honor regarding his matter. Accordingly, we love you, may God bless you, as a subject for the sake of God. And Mawlana Idris, do not fall short in the calamity of this ruler. His name is Baltara because he has a face. It is apparent from the fact that he lived in Al-Zawiya for a long time ago, and Al-Zawiya, as is not the case with you, is all filled with those who have left their tribes, and if the support of this aforementioned person does not strengthen and does not remain as it is, and that leads to what no one has, then if you order his discharge, he will receive the promised riyals as a result of the discharge, God willing, and for love, complete service, and peace. 12 Shaban 1281 Your successor, Hajj Hadd bin Al-Ayyashi, Ham bin Al-Ayyashi Al-Zamouri
