Notes The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (...) God I seek help from, and to Him is Ahmad, and He is the Strong and Helpful, the most deserving of the one upon whom one can depend, and by His strong side in gaining what is appropriate and repelling what is painful, it remains steadfast (...) As for praising Him whom we began with the blessing of His unification before we asked for it (...) he says, “The most needy of creation” (...) The good Muhammad, may God treat him with kindness (...) But in this bygone era, I have achieved narration and knowledge, and praise be to God, with good luck. It is abundant on the authority of those who have taken the lead in this field and have excelled in both extremes of the chain of transmission and achieving the meanings of the text while being vague about its content in these regions, our Sheikh (...) the father Imam Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin (...) Abu Muhammad Abdul Qadir bin Abi Al-Hasan Ali bin Abi Al-Mahasin Yusuf bin Muhammad bin Yusuf bin Abdul Rahman Al-Fasi (...) so it was necessary for me to compile this index, which is called the easiest of purposes, to solve the sheikhs and raise the chains of transmission that occur in Narrations of our Sheikh, the father Imam. The end of the manuscript: Its compiler, the poor Muhammad al-Tayeb, said: May God forgive his sins and cover his faults (...) The poor servant, to the mercy of his Lord, Muhammad ibn Abd al-Qadir al-Fasi, says (...) I granted Muhammad al-Tayyeb permission for the knowledge he desired from approval, so I granted him and whoever was mentioned in the summons, and all of them except the boy Ahmed, the students of the father Sheikh, may God have mercy on him, participated with me in taking from him, and I granted them general, absolute, and complete approval in all that I have read. It is heard and metaphorical, and I gave them permission to narrate on my behalf what is correct for me and his narration with the chains of transmission mentioned in this index and others (...) and God is responsible for correcting our attribution to him (...) It ended with praise to God (...) on the eve of Monday, the 19th of Shawwal in the year 1115 AH. May God grant us goodness and protect us from harm. Font type: fine Moroccan
