The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. The news about the construction of the al-Qarawiyyin hermitage was honored by God Almighty by mentioning it when Imam Abu Abbas Ahmad bin Abi Bakr began building the al-Qarawiyyin hermitage.
The end of the manuscript: He wrote to the Arab tribes urging them to wage jihad, then he began sending armies to Andalusia for the rest of the aforementioned year. When it was the first of Safar in the year six hundred and eighty-four, the people had agreed to pass to Andalusia, so he descended by road and then proceeded from there to Al-Khadra for a year.
