Abdullah bin Hijazi, known as Al-Sharqawi, says that when the passengers of the Grand Vizier and the Most Excellent Vizier (...) arrived, His Eminence, the Minister Yusuf Pasha (...) in the city of (...) in the holy month of Ramadan in the year two hundred and fourteen after the reconciliation had been reached between him and the French sect in the citadel of Al-Arish, and I went with some Egyptian scholars to meet him. Some of the brothers who were followers of that Grand Vizier asked me to compile a book (...) and I called it Tuhfat Al-Nazir, about the rulers and sultans who ruled Egypt. End of the manuscript: I ask you, O God, to cover the days with clothes of glory throughout his life, to explain time with the continuity of his joys, to preserve his joy from all harm, and to perpetuate throughout time his joy in the honor of our Master Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.
