Notes
Praise be to God, our dearest cousin, the earthly jurist, the just, the most learned scholar, Sir Abd al-Wahhab al-Sarraj, may God protect you and may God’s peace and mercy be upon you, for the goodness of our Lord, may God grant him victory. And after we received your letter informing you of the death of our brother, the apple of our eyes, the fruit of our heart, our soul, and our banner, there is no power or strength except in God, the Most High, the Great. To God belongs and to Him we shall return. The whole world has been repeated against us, and the matter is God’s will. May God have mercy on him abundantly. May God’s mercy be upon him to his friends and pure ones, especially his loved ones. May God grant him peace in Paradise. May God make him one of those who have no fear and no sorrow. The pendulum has reached me at the time you put him with him. May God protect you. He will complete his wages. As for the arrival, here I am whistling, God willing, and after the honorable command he called, pay to the honorable ten people of Tamslouht and their judge directed to Tefilalt twenty riyals each as an increase for them and for love and peace.
