Praise be to God alone, may God bless our master Muhammad and his family and companions, our master the only jurist, the Pasha, Sidi Idris Al-Sarraj. May God grant you success, may God’s peace and mercy be upon you, for the best of our Lord, may God support him. And after that, we have received your letter regarding Ham bin Al-Ayyashi Al-Zamuri, and that he was arrested by the leader Abd al-Razzaq and extracted from him, and you ordered his arrest in compliance with the Mawlawi’s order and to inform you (bitters) for you to know about it, our Lord. As for what was captured by him, it was captured. And here he is under the hands of (Batr) of the aforementioned leader when he was arrested. That was the days of the caliphate of Al-Aghzawi, the year the first (Batr) was arrested in the Zawiya market, and some of the Idrisid nobles and Sayyed Muhammad Al-Aghzawi confronted him and snatched him from the hands of his capture. As for what I asked you to do nothing about him until a letter other than this comes to you, engage with it, God willing, and with love and peace, on the 12th of Rajab 1281.
