Notes
Praise be to God, our master Al-Pasha Al-Asad, the most glorious jurist, the highest foundation and the highest sanctuary, my good sir Al-Muqri, may God grant you peace and may God’s mercy be upon you for the goodness of our Lord, may God bless him. And after your Excellency, I have written to your honor repeatedly asking to return to my place and look into my case, since with you, my Lord, the sun of justice shines upon the Most High, and your Excellency is worthy of this at the pole of our west, and Yaghut your presence in the face of God Almighty, who is not sworn by anyone. Yes, we beg of you and we make it clear to him, may the peace and blessings of God be upon him. We enter upon you. Have mercy on our weakness, our youth, and our world for His noble face. The office has long befallen us with an ax, and none is merciful to us except God Almighty. Our estrangement has been prolonged, so have mercy for the sake of God, for all things are up to you, and you are the greatest mediator. If you had interceded for them in all things, it would have been accepted from you, especially because you knew of my condition and weakness, for you are the one who directed us to an ax, and you are the one who directed us to an ax, and you are the one through whom we will return. He built me up, so the face of God Almighty and His Prophet is worthy of you. We beg. Stone my weakness and look at my condition. I am clear in Morocco, and I was weak between the private and the public, with good morals, supporting the oppressed, and standing up for the face of God, so what you have been described with is true. Be merciful and transgress, and return my knowledge immediately, for God will reward you and separate it. He will reward you. Peace be upon you on the 18th of Ramadan in the year 1353. Muhammad bin Muhammad al-Susi in the path of Abd al-Karim Arfi, Fez.
