The beginning of the manuscript: Praise be to God, praise be to the thankful...And then he says...Muhammad, the descendant of Al-Mardini, Al-Muqaqit Al-Shafi’i...There is no better method for calculating astronomical works than the method of calculating the sexagesimal ratio, which is the one used in our time. They abandoned the method of the ancients due to its difficulty and many works, and I did not find a satisfactory introduction to this art other than the introduction of our Sheikh, the Imam, the scholar Shihab al-Din Ahmad ibn al-Masry, may God Almighty have mercy on him, which is called revealing the facts in calculating degrees and minutes...so I wanted to shorten an introduction from it. Useful...I called it fact chips in calculating the stairs and minutes
End of the manuscript: And know that the tables are divided into two categories: what is included in a single longitudinal number, such as readings and the like, and what is included in it in a longitudinal and latitudinal number... Now that, thanks to God and His help, what we wanted to put in the introduction has been completed for us, its foundations have been established, its paths have been opened, and its paths have been freed, so praise be to Him for all the blessings, and prayers and peace be upon our Master Muhammad, the Master of the Arabs and the Persians, and his family and companions, the Most Powerful. It has ended....The blessed sixties have ended, thanks to God and His good help....There is no power nor strength except in God, the Most High, the Great.
