Notes Praise be to God alone                        May God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family, our most honorable and dearest lover, the student, the leader, and the servant of our master, Mr. Idris al-Sarraj. May God help you in what he has given you, and with his success, your care. May peace and God’s mercy be upon you for the goodness of our master. May God protect him, may God bless him and exalt him. Let you know that this has been about three days, and the relatives of Hajj Muhammad al-Jarnasi were at the door of our house, calling for help, frightened and terrified, and they were informed that Muhammad, who had been arrested and released. The expansive land narrowed them down, and those of them who were captured were seized. So know, may God protect you, that this man did not commit a sin or commit anything. He was sitting when he was told, and the worker now in the countryside wrote to him and assigned him, and after he assigned him to write, he did not submit to an order out of fear of you. He was safe before, out of fear of you. He asked me for a letter to you, and I replied to him, “We do not write to the worker about something that is useless. The worker directed against you, so go to him until you hear what he says and learn what he wants. I will investigate. And I guard against what is disturbed and what remains is the love and good opinion between us and those like you. And what is intended, as God knows in all matters, is God Almighty. We want you, for what you have learned from me of your love and beautiful opinion of you, to believe in their fear and refrain from the hands of aggression. The guilt is not theirs. Rather, it is from the doer. He is the one who spoke to him and wrote to him. He is considerate of the weak. This nation is safe. Power is not from the people of power. Taking risks except for the people of tyranny. And what is in their business is alien to us and to Him. May peace and love be upon us, Muhammad bin Al-Mamoun, may God grant him peace
