Praise be to God alone and may God’s blessings be upon his family, our master Muhammad, and his family, our master, the best jurist, the best writer, Sidi Idris Al-Sarraj. May the peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you, for the best of our Lord, may God grant him victory. And after, the dearest, I have received your letter informing you to go to the public director, my two sheikhs of sight, from this corner in it. I directed it to the aforementioned shop with this one notary, and let it be in the honor of our master’s knowledge that I brokered the olives of Ibn Al-Ashqar and will collect its price. Seven thousand and sixty hundred mithqals for their homes, and I postponed the payment of the price to the buyers for three months, as is the custom in this regard. We inform you that Mr. Muhammad Al-Shannat came with a power of attorney in his hand regarding the Fassi dirhams, in which he seized from seven people one thousand mithqals, and my deposit on them for the remainder for a period of one month to come from his date, and that was after what Mr. Idris Al-Zamouri, the creditor, ordered him to flee and inform us that he is in your presence, so we would like our master to order him. With the love of our Lord and peace, on the 16th of Jumada 2 in the year 1279 Caliph Si Muhammad Al-Aghzawi, may God be gracious to him.
