Notes	Praise be to the one who is obliged, may God honor him, guide him, and perpetuate his glory. A man who called himself Si Muhammad bin Si Muhammad bin Mubarak al-Hajji al-Wardi, from the descendants of Hamoud, a close-knit Arab, with a very thick, very black beard, appeared below his left eye. A wound as long as two fingertips swelled because of that. His face swelled, and his eye was swollen. The aforementioned wound was oozing pus and around it was murky blood. He asked him, “Who did this aforementioned act to you, which is something a rational person would not often do to himself?” So he mentioned that he was in The first night of the month of his history in his place near Al-Sakhinat from the farms of the children of Al-Hajj and Abdullah Al-Bernusi Al-Hajji Al-Ashi Al-Zarhouni who lives in Al-Sakhinat, and with his promise Al-Hajji Al-Nasiri and Sidi Muhammad bin Issa Al-Hajji Al-Harmasi, and they conspired against him, and the aforementioned Al-Bernusi struck him with a knife and wounded him with the aforementioned wound and hit him with it with each of the latter’s stones on the grounds of premeditation and aggression that lead to retaliation, not on the basis of the mistake by which he was destined, and that the pain of death is absolved from that, and that if he was destined, he struck him with it with each of the latter’s stones. May God grant him his death from that before his righteousness becomes clear, so the men mentioned are those who are under the responsibility of those who are subject to him. So whoever hears what was mentioned by the mentioned men while he is in the condition described, record him as a witness against him along with what was mentioned and known about him on the sixth of Safar al-Khair in the year two hundred and eighty, and he wrote the truth with the validity of his attachment and the completion of his walk, it is valid with him. The left one is valid with him.
