The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (...) He said (...) Abu Zaid Abd al-Rahman bin Ali bin Salih al-Makudi (...) Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds (...) As for what follows, this is a brief explanation of Alfiyyah by Ibn Malik, well-honed in its objectives and clear in its paths, by which its words are understood and whose meanings are memorized.
The end of the manuscript: The second is the quantities about a farsakh, a mile, and a barid. The third is what is formulated from the verb as a goal and a doctrine. It is apparent that his statement as a “goal” is from the word “throw,” which is that “a goal” is formulated from the word “throw,” but it is not like that. It is not far-fetched that the verb here is interpreted as the linguistic verb, which is the source, so his saying is from the deletion of the genitive (...).
