Notes
Praise be to God, after the dhimmi Hayyim bin Maman al-Miknasi passed by the shrine of the most famous saint, the Grand Pole, Sidi Ahmed al-Shami, and he forbade passing from there and refused to return, and some of the boys responded to him by force. Then after that, the aforementioned dhimmi claimed, according to what he mentioned, against those they mentioned, the boy al-Bernusi bin al-Hajj Qasim al-Dhuwaib, Sidi Muhammad bin al-Hajj Muhammad al-Jami, al-Mukhtar bin al-Ma’roufi, and Qasim bin Hamadi al-Jami, that they had deprived him of forty-one French riyals and five French riyals. With simple silver dirhams and gold, about six mithqals of a balance, and they denied it completely, but they prevented him from passing through the mentioned shrine only after the aforementioned dhimmi had accepted the oath by God Almighty from the two mentioned boys where he loves, how he loves, and with the help of what he will live. If they also swore to him, then he absolved them of the aforementioned suit. I bear witness that he fulfilled the oath to God Almighty when he mentioned how they reminded them of the aforementioned lawsuit of complete, comprehensive, absolute, general acquittal after which there is no follow-up and no sleep, long or short. Full testimony. He knew his worth. He was attested by it in a fair condition, and he was known for it, along with his description of him being straight, with a lot of gray hair, with a light, pale face. On the ninth of Shawwal Al-Abrak in the year two hundred and eighty-two thousand.
