The text of what I wrote to His Excellency Minister Al-Sadr, Your Excellency the Grand President of Al-Azhar, the lofty position, and the distinguished position, Minister, the Grand Vizier, the jurist, Sir Hajj Al-Muqri, may you always be worthy of hope and a place of travel, and after paying the respect that befits your highest position and best regards to the goodness of our Lord the Imam, I kindly ask you to take me by the hand in the presence of our master, the Sultan, Taj Mafraq Al-Zaman, the most protected refuge and the highest abode. May God continue to grant him victory and exaltation, and the enjoyment of all forever. I supported him until I gained his satisfaction with the issuance of the Sharif’s order to employ me in the place of the deceased Caliph, Sayyed Muhammad Ibn Tahila, may God have mercy on him, in Casablanca, where the conspiracy took place. I would like to celebrate the Eid in the service of their honorable abode, and the people deserve to take refuge at its high door, by God. May God prolong your life for us under the long shadow of His care, and grant you what befits you. Respect and peace on the 14th of Rabi’ al-Thani in the year 1358.
