Notes Praise be to God alone                  And may God’s blessings and peace be upon our master and my master Muhammad and his family, our master and the substitute of our father, the earthly jurist and the custodian of the secret of our sick master, Pasha Al-Asaad, Sidi Idris Al-Sarraj. May God protect you and take care of you. May the peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you for the goodness of our master, may God grant him victory. After our death, your supreme letter is to tell you the truth about the people of the countryside over whom you have appointed, so you should know that the people of the countryside have camped near Bani Maraz and have not fulfilled their duty. A whole year and you see them camping. The Bani Maraz were in Bab al-Mahrouq, and they were camping in the wool selling shop in Bab al-Khamis, each one with his brother and turning to the Bani Maraz, but the place was too tight for them and they went down. Then they, Ibn Yahya and most of the people from Ibn Azouz and their brothers, were camping down the paddock of the Bani Maraz in the countryside of the people of the countryside from the Bani Maraz who were under our control before. And you know that some of them came to us on the day I addressed my letter to you regarding them and made you an elder over them and a mediator between us and them. They all accepted him, and only one named Haddo remained. His name was Haddo Ali, and two or three followed him. What escaped from them was that he was accused with those who were imprisoned for burning the crops, and four feared the same with the accused. As for the tithes, the tenths of the Banu Maraz had access to the corner from their old days. As for these, they had neither tillage nor anything else, but they camped nearby and all of them wanted to serve with others. As for what was from the estates of the corner, they also beat Krum, Ma’hud, Sidi Youssef, and Bou. Mandarah, for all of them we have no access to. May God bless you with the succession of Si Muhammad Al-Aghzawi. May God bless you and your love. May he benefit us from you. Amen. Peace be upon Sheikh Ali bin Saeed Al-Amari. May God grant him peace.
