The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (...) A message in support of arrest and a response to those who deny its legitimacy in the obligatory prayer (...) by Imam Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Masnawi (...) Praise be to God who made scholars the lamps of guidance (...) And after that, when it occurred in these hurricanes in which the clouds of ignorance descended on the deserts and lands, the denial of the arrest of those who did the obligatory prayer and went to extremes in slandering him (...) and we translated it as a message in support of arrest. And responding to those who deny the legitimacy of the obligation.
The end of the manuscript: It has been finished, and praise be to God, without ending, from a copy copied by some of the author’s students from his handwriting, original and phasic, as it was copied from the original and by Shatta (such) by (...) Alal bin Abdullah bin Al-Majzoub Al-Fassi (...) on the night of Friday the twenty-third of Jumada Al-Awwal in the year two hundred and eighty-eight.
