Notes
Praise be to God alone And may God’s blessings be upon our Lord Muhammad, our dearest and earthly lover, the servant of our Master Al-Ahda, the student, the most glorious, the leader, Mr. Muhammad bin Talib. Peace, mercy and blessings of God be upon you for the best of our Lord, may God grant him victory. Know, O lover, may God protect you as it is in your knowledge, that the equivalent of the tithes that were sent there is from Meknes, and the end of the portions of the non-Muslim is Yusuf bin Shatrif, and he made of it the portion of four cups in a mithqal and assigned it to the non-Muslim. (Bitr) a mithqal for every year, so that they would recognize in it the year of (Bitr), which was the last month of Ramadan, and they removed (Bitr) two places in which they could recognize it, so the dhimmi paid Salloum bin Harush, and the duty of the mentioned dhimmi Yusuf remained in his debt. So we ask that they want him to pay what he owed (Bitr) to be paid, the treasury said, because (Bitr) is ours for the price or country as it is known (Bitr), and peace be upon the 20th of Rabi’ al-Awwal in the year 1275
