The beginning of the manuscript: He mentioned some of the famous notables of Fez in the past. Some of them are among the Banu Faddha, with the fatḥa al-fa’ and the ḍāl being heavily dictionary. Their house is old in Fez, and I think they are Berbers. They have a market in Fez known as the Souq of Banu Faddah, and it is now called Rahbat al-Qais. It has a hotel that they used to have near the Shuhud of Fez. I found among them Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Faddah, who lives in a shop and is undressed.
End of the manuscript: Among them is the house of the Banu al-Hamdis. Their home is a house of jurisprudence and science, such as the jurist and teacher Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin the jurist and teacher Abu Bakr al-Hamidi al-Fasi. He died in the year (...) Ibn al-Ahmar and others learned from him, may God have mercy on them. Among them is the house of the Banu al-Masuni, among them is the jurist orator Hajj Abu Yahya Abu Bakr bin Ali.
