Notes Praise be to God alone                    And may God’s blessings and peace be upon our Master and Master, Muhammad, and his family, our earthly lover, the student, Mr. Idris Al-Sarraj, may God protect you and take care of you, and may the peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you, for the goodness of our Master, may God support him and grant him victory. And after that, we have reached the case of Al-Susi, whom we addressed to you, imprisoned due to the claim of the other Al-Susi against him that he betrayed him in his shop in Fez and Alaman, as you mentioned, that nothing was proven against him, and that the people fixed between them sixty heavy weights. The plaintiff did not accept, so the calamity was referred to Sharia law, but the plaintiff refused to do his work, and the matter remained as it was. The father of the prisoner’s uncle was brought in as his representative in the complaint, and he stated that the plaintiff had left Fez completely, not to surround those who were with him. So we raised the matter to our master, may God grant him victory, and we looked at your letter. He replied that his calamity should be presented to the judge, and if he gave you permission to release him, he would discharge him, and if he ordered him to remain in prison, he would remain with him, and with love and peace, on Shawwal 5, 1278.     Muhammad Al-Saffar, may God grant him success
