The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (...) These are herbal medicines by the professor, jurist and scholar, the unique scholar of his time in the science of herbal medicine in Souss Al-Aqsa, Sidi Muhammad bin Ahmad Al-Baqili Al-Sousi (...) and he, may God be pleased with him, said, Praise be to God, His praise is due (...) As for what follows, these are medicines that I collected with God’s help in this part, and I quoted some of them from medical books on the authority of people after trying them, according to what they said, and some of them I tried and saw their validity, and praise be to God and thanks be to Him, and I called them the sum of benefits in the science of medicine. The beneficial one.
End of the manuscript: And whoever wants to reduce his sleep, let him pray this prayer. O God, heal me with a little sleep and grant me help in obeying You, O Lord of the Worlds. May God’s blessings and peace be upon our Master Muhammad and his family and companions. It is over, enough, fulfilled, and completed, thanks to God, this wonderful collection of useful medical science.
