The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.... Praise be to God, the Most Gracious, the Most Wahhab.... Now, some of the brothers wanted me to write a treatise for him on working with the astrolabe, so I took the initiative... and arranged it into 10 chapters, and the conclusion of the book is the first chapter on terminology.
The end of the manuscript: It is the extended shadow of the required height, and we have briefly mentioned the summary of what is needed in working with the astrolabe, and we have left out many things that the timekeeper does not lack, such as the projection of the ray, the transformations of the world’s years, the transformations of the horoscopes of births, and many branches. And with God is success, and He is the one who helps. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds. It was completed, thanks be to God....in guarded Egypt.
