The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (...) Sheikh (...) Abu Abdullah Jalal al-Din al-Mahli al-Masri al-Shafi’i said (...) These are a few papers that include knowledge of chapters of the principles of jurisprudence that will benefit the beginner and others. That is, the wording of the principles of jurisprudence is composed of two separate parts of the singular versus the compound, not the plural.
End of the manuscript: The evidence is that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, made the diligent person mistaken at times and right at other times (...) If the judge tried to make a ruling and was correct, he has two rewards, and if he made a ruling and made a mistake, he has one reward, and God knows best. It was written by Muhammad bin Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al-Mutaghanimiya (...) It ended in the year 1340. The blessed explanation was completed (...) Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds.
