Praise be to God alone May God’s blessings be upon our master Muhammad and upon the sovereignty of our master the jurist, the eminent Pasha, my master Idris al-Sarraj, the purest peace be upon the best of our master the Imam, and after, my dear sir, we have received your letter regarding what was written in regard to what was written, sir Muhammad al-Mashat’s consideration of al-Muhtasib, so that we may support him. Know, sir, that we support him and stand with him, and let him not be accompanied by slackness in what you have commanded, and in love, peace, and in 4 Safir Al-Khair in 1286, your successor, Ali Al-Mazkiti
