Notes The beginning of the manuscript: So I became passionate when I heard of their mention *** and my longing for that increased, my brother, for that. And I prayed to my Lord and said, “A repentant servant *** who has fulfilled your father-in-law and hopes for your mercy. So, by your grace, I accept an evil servant who has committed sins *** who fears death and you have not received your satisfaction from him. God forbid that your goodness should disappoint an intending *** who has repented of what we have presented and has come back to you. The end of the manuscript: By God, I am insufficient in your praise *** and inability is befitting in May I be sacrificed for you. So be blessed and pray for us to be guided *** and with a good ending for those who befriend you (...) What a slave said, his time was lost *** Youth has passed away and I was not considered so. The poem ended (...) and the completion of it was the awakening of the fourteenth Saturday of Shaban in the year 1236 in the city of Egypt (...) it ended. Printed manuscript Font type: Moroccan
