Notes Praise be to God alone. May God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad, his family, and his companions, our master the jurist, the Pasha, and my master Idris al-Sarraj. May God grant you success and may God’s peace and mercy be upon you for the goodness of our master. May God support him and perpetuate his peace. Your letter has come to us, answering us in it to what we wrote to you about in the dispute with Al-Hakimi with Al-Aghzawi, and you commanded us to inform you. If his face appears to us, and if no effect appears to him, then the Sharia council will declare and what the ruling will be implemented. So know, may God bless your days, that you investigate the calamity. We did not stop at it, but rather directed us to the law, and established their claim with Him and them. As for the reins of the first day, Al-Aghzawi brought it to Valfina for his glory. The testimony of the two notaries heading to the house requires the return of what Al-Aghzawi owed except seven riyals that were not returned to Al-Hakimi, and the fee that we directed to you with the testimony of one of the two notaries, you have seen and Al-Hakimi returned, and the fee that we directed to you with the testimony of one of the two notaries, you have seen and returned it. Al-Hakimi is under this hand, and he praised that a man from Madshar Musawa who lived in the corner was bringing a scavenger carried on an animal until he approached the corner, and some Jarwan met him and attacked him by plundering him from the animal. Then he started wading in (cutting off) their security, and then one of them struck him lightly, and he died from that blow after one night. We told you to look into the case and learn it, and to the service and peace, 30 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1281.     Your successor, Hajj Hadd bin Al-Ayashi
