The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (...) Abu Abdaj Al-Rahman Al-Sulami Al-Naysaburi said (...) Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds (...) And after that, some sheikhs, may God honor them with His pleasure, asked me to produce for them chapters on the faults of the soul so that they could prove what is behind them.
End of the manuscript: Abu Abd al-Rahman Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Sulami said: I have explained in these chapters some of the faults of the soul so that the rational person can infer from that what is behind them (...) And God Almighty helps us to follow the Messenger and removes from us the resources of heedlessness and forgetfulness and places us under His protection, protection and care (...) and there is no power or strength except in God the Most High, the Great.
