The beginning of the manuscript: Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, Most Gracious, Most Merciful, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad, the owner of great creation, and upon his pure family and his good companions. Then he says Muhammad bin Qasim bin Muhammad bin Ali al-Qaisi al-Gharnati is an origin, and Aba al-Qassar is a title. May God forgive him and those who prayed for him. Al-Muwatta’ has several ways of narrating it, including that I narrate it on the authority of God’s guardian.
The end of the manuscript: Ibn Al-Mubarak said: I do not know that prophecy is better than disseminating knowledge. Al-Mu’afi bin Imran said writing a single hadith is more beloved to me than praying a night, and Yahya bin Abi Katheer said: The inheritance of knowledge is better than gold, and a righteous soul is better than pearls, and learning knowledge is prayer, and I entrust with you supplication, and in nine hundred and ninety-eight. It ended with praise to God Almighty (...) the morning of Friday, the 20th of Muharram Fatih in the year 1114, Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Tamaq, may God be gracious to him.
