Notes The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (...) Bringing blessings and averting curses to avoid the oppressors and the oppressed, written by (...) Sidi Ahmed bin Ahmed bin Omar bin Muhammad bin Aqit Arf Baba Al-Sudani (...) Praise be to God, by His grace, who guides whoever He wills to the straight path (...) And after this is a part in which I collected what is possible (...) in warning about the approaching darkness, accompanying them, seeking them, and conversing with them in search of the ruins of the mortal world and its frail flower (...) I called it bringing blessings and averting curses to avoid injustice and those who are oppressed. End of the manuscript: Let this be the last thing we wanted to put in this meaning and we created its collection in this building (...) My beginning for this part was during the nine hundred and ninety-sixth year, so I wrote about a third of it, then I neglected it until God Almighty ordered it to be completed in the year after it, so its completion fell on Thursday, the second of the Sacred Hajj, and there is no power nor strength except in God, the Most High, the Great, and our last supplication is that praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds. He completed a heavily edited copy on the night of Saturday, the 8th of Dhul-Qa’dah al-Haram, in the year 1285. Font type: fine Moroccan
