Notes The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (...) Praise be to God who has brought forth *** the results of thought to the masters of pilgrimage. And He has lowered from them those of bad reason *** Every veil from the clouds of ignorance (...) And after that, logic is to the heavens *** I attribute it like grammar to the tongue. It insulates thoughts from error. *** And from precise understanding, He reveals the veil. Here are rules from its foundations *** It brings together benefits from its arts. I called it the elegant ladder *** It raises it to the heavens of knowledge. Logic. The end of the manuscript: It has ended with the praise of his Lord Al-Falaq *** what it threw away from the art of logic. It was compiled by the humble and needy servant *** for the mercy of the Mighty and Powerful Lord. Al-Akhdari is the servant of the Most Merciful *** who hopes from his gracious Lord (...) and it was at the beginning of Muharram *** the composition of this organized razzaq of the year forty-one *** after the nine hundredth century (...) the sun of the day had not cut off any constellations *** and the bright full moon rose in The Daja ended, thank God (...) on the fifth of Rabi’ al-Awwal in the year 1300.
