The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful (...) This is the book of the pure biography of the science of wisdom known as the treatise of Sidi Muhammad ibn Amil (...) Praise be to God, who is unique in His kingdom from His creation (...) And then I say, and God is the One who seeks help, after we swear by God Almighty that whoever comes across this treatise called the pure biography of the science of chemistry should conceal it from the ignorant, for I have not written a book of wisdom clearer than it.
End of the manuscript: It is now right for us to conclude this letter, in which I did not come with an assimilated word, but rather it clearly contains the hope of workmanship for you and for others, so that nation after nation may have mercy on Muhammad bin Amāl (...) and the speech and greetings have ceased.
