Notes
Praise be to God alone And may God’s blessings be upon our master Muhammad and upon the sovereignty of our master, the jurist, the eminent Pasha, Sidi Ghadres Al-Sarraj, the most sincere, may peace be upon the best of our Lord the Imam, and after Sidi Ahmed bin Khalq Al-Amri, he is under our hand in prison, so do not release him until our Lord orders his release. As for Hamid bin Muhammad, he is not with us in prison at all. With love and peace, on the 29th of Muharram Al-Haram in the year 1286. Your successor, Ali Al-Mazkiti. Praise be to God, the loving jurist, the most eminent scholar, my good sir. May the peace and mercy of God be upon you, for the best of our Lord, may God grant him victory. The underlined above is the Caliph’s answer to Ahmed bin Khalouf Al-Amri by keeping him in prison for the consequences he owes according to what he wrote to us, and we, with your love and peace, hasten. Idris Al-Sarraj Praise be to God and the cause of our lover’s peace in the presence of our Lord the Imam. And then know that the aforementioned Ahmed bin Makhlouf Al-Amri was released before and returned to prison and that returning him is the right thing to do due to the consequences. May God’s peace and blessings be upon him. May God grant him peace. When he finished, some words fell upon him and were interrupted by his return to prison. Praise be to God for his safety
