Notes
Praise be to God alone, our master, the jurist, the eminent Pasha, my master Idris al-Sarraj, may God’s peace and mercy be upon you, for the goodness of our master, may God grant him victory. There is no doubt or delusion in your mind that Jarwan plundered cows from Fartasah, and they still have them to this day. They complained against my master al-Mansur, by God, time after time, and his victory, may God have mercy on him, wrote to the leader, Ham bin Abdul Fadil Yafasil. They claimed that they were rebels against the Fasal, and just as the leader Muhammad bin Abdul Dayem assumed the caliphate over the tribe of Jarwan Hama’a. They complained again against our Lord, may God support him, and we ordered the arrest of those who claimed their claims. Accordingly, we would like your Excellency to request to us what is in their hands, and for service and peace. On the 8th of Rabi’ 2 in the year 1288, your successor, Ali Al-Mazkiti.
