The beginning of the manuscript: Praise be to Him for the sake of His saints, His Holiness, who made them taste the sweetness of His closeness and companionship, and prayers and peace be upon our Master Muhammad Badr al-Tawhid and his sun, the essence of goodness, unique in its type and kind (...) And then, this is a summary of the masterpiece of the people of Siddiqiyyah with the chains of transmission of the Jazuliyya and Zarruqiyya sects, written by the master jurist and Sufi scholar Abu Abdullah Muhammad al-Mahdi ibn Ahmad ibn Ali ibn (...) Abi al-Mahasin al-Fassi, may God be pleased with him. In a nice style and neat arrangement, with the addition of some of what he omitted and an edit of the original, and for those who want to call it a joke in the abbreviation of the masterpiece. And from God I derive success, and from Him I seek the gift of investigation, as for Sheikh Sidi Muhammad bin Suleiman Al-Jazouli Al-Sharif Al-Hassani.
End of the manuscript: This is the last thing I intended to shorten and make available for those who wanted to benefit from it. May God grant them success. And whoever wants to describe his men with the appropriate characteristics of theirs and to know the details of their names and the date of their deaths, he must follow his origin so that he can identify each one in its proper place. Praise be to God, the Grantor of success who guides to the right path. May God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad, his family, his companions, and all who follow that group.
