The beginning of the manuscript: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to God who created the light of His Prophet before all the beginnings, then He created everything from the highest and the lowest, then He deposited it in the good and sweet loins and raised it in the wombs pure of the fleeting ones, then He turned it in the noble fathers and mothers until He revealed it to be one of the purest family from the best of peoples and tribes, Muhammad, who is designated as the father of Sirs.
End of the manuscript: In this year, alcohol was forbidden according to the words of Abu Ishaq (...) The sixth section (...) The first part of the book “Al-Khamis” has been completed on the conditions of precious souls, followed by the second part, God willing, the fifth part, on the events of the fifth year of the Hijra in Salman’s freedom from slavery (...) And God knows best, and there is no power nor strength except in God, the Most High, the Great, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family and companions. This was written by a righteous person called Sheikh Ahmed Al-Damanhouri in the year 1014 AH.
