Praise be to God alone And may God’s blessings be upon our master Muhammad, our master, the jurist, the pasha, Sidi Idris Al-Sarraj, may God’s peace and mercy be upon you in the presence of our Lord, may God grant him victory. And after your dearest letter has been sent to us in the case of Hajj Hassan Al-Zammouri with Sharif Sayyed Taher, and that he struck him in our presence and prevented him from mending the tide, know that he did not strike him in our presence at all, nor did he attend our invitation, nor did he find a witness to that, and that Hajj Hassan denied in the presence of your friend that he did not complain to you that the sherif struck him in our presence. And that the Sherif complained to us that Hajj Al-Hassan had entered his place without his permission and had dug a house for himself and left a place for us, and that he had lost his needs and money, and he is still on his claim waiting for a hearing, and that Al-Zamuri had behaved badly with everyone, such that he approached you and began to slander you for lying, for service, and for peace, and on the 2nd of Rabi’ 2, 1287, your successor, Ali Al-Mazfiwi.
