The beginning of the manuscript: Praise be to God who chose from His creation the prophets and kings (...) And after that, when life became long and long, the men we were familiar with were gone, and people’s conditions changed in words and deeds (...) This composition includes noble morals that are praised in all horizons, and they are what our Lord recommended to his children, and the character of his household and grandchildren, and those of the kings whom God helped him imitated (...) and I named him the precious Anis, who sings about the companion. (...).
The end of the manuscript: This is the last thing that was easy to collect from this gentleman who does not need anything precious or vile (...) There is no power nor strength except in God, the Most High, the Great.
